Echo Aviation Controller Troubleshooting

Use this guide to resolve common setup, connection, input, and update issues with the Echo Aviation Controller.

My Echo Aviation Controller is not being detected by my computer​

  • Ensure the Echo Aviation Controller is powered on
  • Try a different USB port or cable
  • If using wireless, confirm the dongle is properly connected
  • Restart your PC and reconnect the device

The Echo Aviation Controller is connected but not working in my simulator​

  • Confirm the device is recognized by your system before launching the simulator
  • Check your simulator’s control settings and ensure the Echo Aviation Controller is selected
  • Reassign or verify axis bindings
  • Restart the simulator after connecting the controller

My controls are not responding correctly​

This may include reversed controls, overly sensitive inputs, or inconsistent behavior.

  • Adjust sensitivity curves and dead zones in your simulator
  • Reverse axes if needed, especially for pitch or throttle
  • Reset and rebind controls if behavior seems inconsistent

Wireless connection is not working or keeps dropping​

  • Make sure the wireless dongle is plugged directly into your PC and avoid USB hubs
  • Keep the Echo Aviation Controller within range
  • Ensure the battery is charged
  • Try switching to wired mode to isolate the issue

Do I need to update the wireless dongle?​

Yes. In some cases, performance or connectivity issues may require a dongle update.

Update steps​

  1. Connect your Echo Aviation Controller via USB
  2. Download and run the dongle update tool
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions
  4. Reconnect your controller wirelessly after completion

Updating the dongle can resolve:

  • Connection drops
  • Pairing issues
  • Latency or responsiveness problems

Some buttons or levers are not registering​

  • Use Windows Game Controllers to test inputs
  • Check for duplicate or conflicting bindings in your simulator
  • Replug the device and restart your simulator

The Echo Aviation Controller feels uncalibrated or off-center​

  • Recenter the Echo Aviation Controller and restart your simulator
  • Adjust dead zones and sensitivity
  • Recalibrate through Windows if needed

Firmware or update issues​

  • Close all simulation software before running updates
  • Try a different USB port
  • Run update tools as administrator
  • Reconnect the device and retry

General performance issues​

  • Ensure your simulator is up to date
  • Check for Honeycomb software or profile updates
  • Test the Echo Aviation Controller in another simulator or input tool
